Jim and Rosalyn Housley had enjoyed their mountain get-a-way for several years, when in 2005 they decided to make the move from Bradenton, FL to Hayesville, NC.

Owning a home accessory store has been an idea that Rosalyn and her husband Jim have thought about since moving to the area. Jim has been a custom home builder and Rosalyn a decorator for over 25 years in Bradenton, FL and have used their combined skills to fully furnish and decorate the homes that they have built here in Hayesville.

"We have had such fun putting the store together and have done our best to fill the store with accessories and gifts that are both affordable and appealing", said owner Rosalyn Housley.

The interior walls of the store as well as the floor in the upstairs loft are finished in rough sawn wood and painted to look like barn siding. Jim built an indoor arbor complete with a swing and designed a front porch using an old tin roof. The iron railings on the stair case give an elegant touch to the otherwise very rustic interior.

The store will sell a wide variety of home accessories and gift items such as unique accent furniture, florals, candles, pictures, greeting cards and inspirational items. Rosalyn will offer affordable decorating services as well as complete home decorating packages.

"Our hope is that The Rustic Rose will become a favorite, fun shopping place for the locals as well as our many mountain visitors", Rosalyn said. "We are looking forward to meeting lots of new folks and want them to keep coming back to see what's new!"
